Our Guest, Pam Shanks, a Montessorian and expert in special education, will answer these questions and offer specific strategies for supporting children with sensory processing challenges in our Montessori classrooms.

About our Guest

Pamela Shanks

Montessori Educator & Consultant

Pam’s love for Montessori and inclusive education inspired her teaching and administrative career. Whether serving as the lead guide of an inclusive classroom at Raintree Montessori School, Lawrence, KS; coordinating Raintree’s ground-breaking program of inclusion; or working with the administrative team at Bowman School, Palo Alto, CA; Pam’s passion has always been fostering a match between Montessori and the child – every child. Her work culminated in a deep understanding of Montessori pedagogy and inclusive strategies for children who experience disability, learning, and/or behavioral challenges. Pam holds an AMS 3-6 credential and earned a master’s degree in special education from the University of Kansas. She currently provides professional development and consultative services for Montessori schools.
