Our Guest: Kate McElderry

with Margaret Jarrell

Episode 104: Early Signs of Dyslexia and When to Ask for Help

Show Notes

Kate McElderry joins us to talk about early signs of dyslexia in Toddler and Primary age students. As Montessorians, we are trained to follow the child and give the gift of time, yet we also know that early intervention is critical in supporting students with language-based learning differences. So how can you tell if a child this young is at risk and could benefit from outside reading support? How do you broach this topic with parents? Kate McElderry, an Outreach Coordinator & Language Tutor at the Odyssey School, will share her expertise as a learning specialist and language tutor.
